The University of Edinburgh joined the ranks of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe’s detractors over the summer by stripping him of his honorary degree.He has now become the first individual in the university’s history to have an honorary degree removed. Mugabe received the accolade in 1984 for ‘services to education in Africa’ but it was revoked amid concerns over the President’s running of the country and allegations of human rights abuses. for more click here
