Al-Qaeda using children as suicide bombers: US

Al-Qaeda is using teenagers as suicide bombers in Iraq, a US military spokesman said on Sunday, as an influential Sunni cleric urged the jihadists to stop “strapping bombs to children”.

The comments came as Iraqi troops and tanks rolled into Mosul to boost forces for a huge offensive against al-Qaeda after deadly bombings in the restive northern city this week killed dozens, among them a police chief. for more click here

Strongman Soeharto dies without ever facing justice

SOEHARTO, the military strongman who dominated Indonesia for 32 years, has died in a Jakarta hospital, leaving a nation torn between revering and reviling its former president.

Soeharto’s organs failed at 1.10pm yesterday, after 23 days on life support in Pertamina Hospital. His body will be flown to Solo for burial today in a family mausoleum. for more click here
