The conviction in London this week of the Muslim fanatic known as “Osama bin London” and five of his followers is a significant blow to Islamist terrorism in the United Kingdom. Terrorist suspect escapes

SINGAPORE: A “security lapse” led to the escape of the leader of the city-state’s wing of the Islamic militant network, Jemmah Islamiah.

Singapore’s Minister for Home Affairs, Wong Kan Seng, told Parliament yesterday that Mas Selamat bin Kastari escaped from the toilet of a detention facility, in the middle of a residential area, on Wednesday afternoon.for more click here

BAGHDAD — Hussein Athab visited Iran three times after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003. The political science professor took in the religious sites and admired Iraq’s bigger, richer and stronger Shiite Muslim neighbor to the east.

U.S. warns Europe of Iran missiles

LONDON — With American officials working to close a deal on a missile defense system in Europe, the head of the U.S. program warned Thursday that Iran was within two or three years of producing a missile that could reach most European capitals.

“They’re already flying missiles that exceed what they would need in a fight with Israel. Why? Why do they continue this progression in terms of range of missiles? It’s something we need to think about,” Air Force Lt. Gen. Henry Obering III, director of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, told a conference here on missile defense. for more click here

U.S. sanctions target Syria group

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Bush administration on Thursday announced it was imposing economic sanctions on four people it accused of helping with the flow of money, weapons, terrorists and other resources from Syria into Iraq.

UN: SHAMEFUL SILENCE ON CIVILIAN KILLINGS IN DARFUR

Security Council Should Take Decisive Action Against Sudan for Recent Attacks

(New York, February 27, 2008) – The UN Security Council should strongly denounce the Sudanese government’s recent bombardment of civilian villages in West Darfur and impose targeted sanctions on those responsible, Human Rights Watch said in a letter today.

Human Rights Watch warned that the Council’s inaction has given Sudan a green light to continue attacking civilian targets, flouting international law and Security Council resolutions.

Muslim anger mounts over cartoons, movie

Outrage continued to rise this week in parts of the Muslim world over the depiction of Islam in Danish newspapers earlier this month and the possible release of a film in the Netherlands critical of the religion.

Muslims in Sudan, Pakistan, Turkey, the Middle East, and other parts of the Islamic world, have been angered over the republication of one cartoon from a 2005 series that satirized Islam’s prophet Muhammad. Muslims regard visual depictions of the prophet Muhammad as blasphemous. for more click here

That was the title of one of our professor’s that teach OUR citizens at Stanford, and this article by  Cinnamon Stillwell is excellent, as she exposes this professor at his core.  A radical, who reverts to name calling, and who “claimed that Islamic terrorism grows primarily out of a sense of political and economic grievance and, of course, “occupation” on the part of “neo-colonial powers.” A wonderful read, and she boots him out of the park. for more click here
