Serious Fraud Office decision “unlawful”

Excellent news from the High Court which has ruled that the Serious Fraud
Office “acted unlawfully” in ending its inquiry into the Al-Yamamah arms deal
between BAE and Saudi Arabia.

The BBC’s reports have suggested that the Government was worried the
investigation would jeopardise a deal to sell fighter planes to Saudi Arabia,
even though they have repeatedly claimed that the decision was based on
national security issues.
