He was “humiliated” at the prospect of actually doing the job for which he was hired, but in this one case at least, the principle that Western law and custom must in all cases give way to Islamic law does not win out. for more click here

British Women Pay High Price for Multiculturalism

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

For decades, the British people have undergone an onslaught of aggressive government propaganda schemes intent upon preparing them to first accept the multicultural totalitarian assault and to become a veritable doormat for millions of colonizers — the vast majority being from Islamic countries. There was no public debate nor any citizen vote – multiculturalism, along with militant political correctness – were thrust upon and infected the populous of Great Britain like the Black Plague. Multiculturalism – rather than being based on mutual respect – is a parasitic ideology that encourages immigrants, to not assimilate and to aggressively insist the invaded Western countries be subservient to them and their cultures. In my opinion, multiculturalism demands ‘reverse assimilation’ or the inevitable loss of the indigenous culture as native populations are brainwashed, goaded, shamed and threatened to place all other cultures above their own. The following is primarily about Britain (and later more specifically England) but the same could be said about much of Europe – and likely soon to be in the USA. for more click here

In Memorium in Leith,Edinburgh

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

As I mentioned last week I’ve got more details about the Leith Roll of Honour at this year’s Leith Festival. Andrew Grant (who I have copied in) has been researching all the soldiers who died from Leith in WW1 and the Gretna Disaster which is the worst ever train crash in Britain. What he has discovered makes up the exhibition.

I’ve attached below his explanation of what he has done. His number is 0131 4769576 if you need any more details.

Cheers

About 18 months ago I was carrying out research into one of my wife’s uncles – John Dick – who died in the 1WW. We subsequently found out that 5 other brothers were also involved and all were injured. I wrote a booklet about my research (copies are in
Leith Library). During the research I found out about the Leith Roll of Honour – 5 volumes – which is now held by Lothian Health Service Archives, and with the late Steve Mitchell and Ian Ross it was exhibited in Leith Library during the Leith Festival last year. During the exhibition we had some 4 – 500 people visiting many tracing their relatives and we were able to give them a good deal of information. Most were unaware as to where the relatives were buried or commemorated.

Following the event I had the idea of tracking down the grave sites or memorials where those who died and are noted in the Roll of Honour. There are over 2,200 of them. I did not realise the task I had set myself and have spent well over 800 hours doing the
job which is now nearing ‘completion’. Unfortunately I can not trace the ‘whereabouts’ of 160 casualties but like any good Leither I will ‘Persevere!

When researching John Dick I found an obituary in the ‘Leith Observer’ with a photo of John – the only one we have. I was able to copy this and include it in my booklet. I later managed to get images of two of his brothers from the same source. I decided to try and copy all such obituaries which appeared in the paper from 1915 – 1919 and have managed to accumulate some 850 or so images of similar obituaries, those injured, missing PoWs and other material. The I have edited and now got on file. Many folk like us might not have a photo but I have these ones now.

Further to the tracing of the graves & memorials I analysed the information that I had accumulated. The records have the person’s name, age, rank, regiment, date of death, address in Leith, their grave site and cemetery or the memorial where they are commemorated. Whilst records are not complete I find that 1016 casualties are commemorated on memorials throughout all areas of the conflict (I have noted the number on each memorial); 37.5% of all casualties are in the 19 – 24 age group. I also analysed the numbers of casualties in the various regiment (over 80 of these). In addition I enumerated the numbers of casualties during each month of the war. There were some in every month throughout the four years and beyond.

I have gone round Rosebank, Seafield, Warriston and Eastern Cemeteries in
Leith and photographed the War Memorials and a number of 1WW graves which exist in each – there are a lot! I have made particular study of the Gretna Disaster when 240 officers and men of the Royal Scots were killed on the way to the front. 121 of them are
mentioned in the RoH.

All of this material I am presenting in a large portfolio which together with the RoH will be on display in hard copy and on computers during this year’s Leith Festival 5 – 12 June. I will be present throughout at Leith Library together with a few volunteers who will help for a few hours to show it to any member of the public who drop in. There
will also be an exhibition of the Gretna Disaster (22/05/15) with photographs and news items etc. I will be in attendance every day of the festival to guide folk through the material. As the RoH will be in sealed cases the only time for ‘hands on’ will be on the Wednesday afternoon when LHSA staff will be in attendance. All material including the RoH will be available on computers for people to research and view.

The exhibition is free but donations to The Commonwealth War Grave Commission will be welcome.

This is a very brief outline of what I have done and if we could meet up I could show you the results.

Regards

Andrew Grant
