British troops have swept into the Taliban’s heartland in heavily-armoured helicopters and trucks, it was revealed yesterday.
The deployment is the prelude to a major assault to sweep the gunmen from one of their last strongholds.
The impending assault, to be known as Operation Mostarak – the Pashtun word for ‘Together’ – will be the biggest push against the Taliban since Operation Panther’s Claw last summer – the month-long operation in which ten British soldiers died. for more click here
