Jesus commanded: “Love they neighbour as thyself.” The Church will undoubtedly be strongly criticised by secularists and politicians for interfering yet again in politics. But all it is doing is attempting to fulfil its gospel mandate to help others.

What the report shows is a Church heavily engaged in social welfare through its dioceses, cathedrals, bishops, priests and laity, and receiving little or no recognition from the Government.

Research shows that more than 50,000 churchgoers are regularly involved in church-based or church-backed social action, such as helping the poor, elderly or disabled. A similar number of churchgoers are involved in volunteering for secular charities. for more click here

The Church of England feels itself to be marginalised, excluded and neglected. This message, gathered from every diocese in the country, including dozens of bishops, members of Parliament, peers and academics, is relentlessly consistent.

The policies of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown have helped to generate a spiritual, civic and economic crisis in Britain, according to an important Church of England report.

I will defend all Western and indeed infidel countries against Islamic Jihad, but I admit I feel especially close to Britain, not just because of the long cultural and historic ties between Scandinavia and the British Isles, but also because I appreciate the good that has come out of British culture. The collapse of Christianity has wrecked British society, a leading Church of England bishop declared yesterday.

It has destroyed family life and left the country defenceless against the rise of radical Islam in a moral and spiritual vacuum.

Apparently several “prestigious” mosques have refused to register, as per British law, marriages performed at the mosques. The imams, conducting the ceremony, are also unauthorized to conduct legal marriages. These mosques have chosen instead to follow what is required under Islamic law.
